Kasprowy Wierch – ski mountain (1987 m above sea level) in West Tatra,
towers over valleys: Bystra, Sucha Woda Gąsienicowa
i Cicha Liptowska. It is situated in the main range
of Tatra, between Beskid and Pośredni Goryczkowy.
The name of the peak derives from grovelling at its feet Kasprowa Hala, on which a long time ago highlanders grazed their cattle and sheep. According to folk applications Hala Kasprowa was most probably an owner of the hall highlander about the name or the Kasper nickname. However Kasprowy gained his popularity Peak only in 30 years of the last century when came into existence first in Poland funicular railway.
Structure of the funicular railway on Kasprowy the Peak was begun on 1 August 1935, and on already 26 February 1936 touched the train from Kuźnice to Myślenickie Tarnie. The first silver wagon reached and Kasprowy Peak on Sunday, of 15 March 1936 after 227 days of the structure. There was this special event in contemporary world. The man thanks to his obstinacy and the hard work climbed all problems and it what in many eyes was impossible became reality. To this day everyone who wants at least for moments to see mountains from close up can in sequence 20 to find minutes oneself on the peak of Kasprowy, in the summer in order to admire the very beautiful panorama of the Tatra mountains, to go by the winter on skis.
